Last night Steve Jobs passed away and left the world a poorer place for his passing.
From a business and technology perspective, few could argue his genius. He started Apple, got fired from the company which then floundered until he ended up back working for them through an strange twist of fate. He also started Pixar, arguably the best CGI animation company around today.
To mark his passing I thought I’d post an inspirational video clip from 2005, where Steve Jobs spoke at Stanford College in the US. I hope it inspires you as much as it has inspired me.
Its been years since I first saw that video, but watching it again I can’t help wonder if perhaps his greatest legacy won’t be small white electronic devices, but rather that he inspired people the world over to follow their passion, their hearts and work to their strengths, to achieve greater things than any of us think are possible.
I hope so.
